I would like to start by saying that it’s very rare in today’s society to find people that really care and offer great customer service, so after my experiences at 2start I just had to write this to say a great big thanks to all the staff!
A few months ago I decided that a career change was what I needed after spending many years within the motor trade at all levels, so I decided that driving trucks was for me as I have always had this fascination with them; it must be the mechanic in me or maybe I’m just a big kid at heart still.
Well the first thing to do was to find someone that could offer the appropriate training so I started to look and found this company called 2Start Southern based at AFS haulage.
Within a few weeks I was booked in and started training firstly with class 2 or class c and then onto class 1 or class c-e. As a novice and inexperienced truck driver all at 2start made me welcome and gave me confidence from the beginning, especially Gary Cobb. Gary, the chief instructor, was truly fantastic with his years of experience from driving and tuition he really was excellent if he said do it! You had the faith to do so even if it felt very unnatural at first, Gary’s approach to training is excellent as he can see in each and every person their strengths and weakness and help to develop their skill level in whatever fashion is best by either pushing you more intensely, as in my case, or just helping by keeping you calm.
So when it came to test day there were no problems. I passed without issues on both class of vehicle, I was so happy I just could not believe it and its all down to the team at 2Start.
During the whole training process every one at 2Start have been excellent Peter , Paul , Heather and Jody within the admin offices have been so fantastic giving me advice and building my confidence all the time.
Since passing I have returned back to 2 Start to obtain my fork lift licence or counter balance certificate and again everyone was fantastic. Jane, the instructor, was simply awesome.
I can only say great things about 2Start Southern and the team at AFS Haulage. I will most definitely be utilising there training centre in the future.
